Most major expat communities in Cairo are represented by an organization. Listed below are the best known organizations with the largest mixture of members from different countries. COMMUNITY SERVICES ASSOCIATION (CSA) www.livinginegypt.org Founded by Betty Atherton, wife of a former US ambassador to Egypt, the CSA was originally designed for expat women to meet other women and share tips about settling in. CSA has since expanded and now offers language courses, cooking and art classes, a health club, cafe, and a well stocked library and video store. BRITISH COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION (BCA) www.bcaegypt.com The British Community Association, founded in 1976, serves the interest of the British and expat communities of Egypt.
